A quiet sanctuary for the soul that is struggling. Every word here is from the Qur'an, or from the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. No invention. No therapy slogans dressed in green. Just what Allah and His Messenger ﷺ have already given you — the words that have steadied hearts for fourteen centuries.
"Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest."
Surah Ar-Raʿd · 13:28
There is no wrong answer. Whatever you choose, you will be met with what Allah and His Messenger ﷺ said for it — a verse, a du'ā, and a step. Allah sees you.
The Prophet ﷺ taught us the most beloved deeds to Allah are the consistent ones — even if small. When everything feels too heavy, do this one. Tomorrow there will be another.
"And to Allah belong the most beautiful Names — so call upon Him by them." (Al-Aʿrāf 7:180). When your heart is breaking, learn the Name of Allah that is asking to be remembered for that exact pain.
When you have nothing left to say, the Prophet ﷺ already gave you the language. Every du'ā here is from a Ṣaḥīḥ or Ḥasan narration. Carry them.
Not abstract advice. Real, traceable actions the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught — preserved in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim. Walk through them one by one tonight.
Depression is heavy. Sometimes you cannot make wuḍū. Sometimes you cannot leave the bed. Allah knows this. He has not closed every door because one is too heavy for you tonight. These are the smallest acts — every one from Ṣaḥīḥ sources.
In the Name of Allah. Before water. Before bread. Before opening your eyes. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Every important matter not begun with Bismillāh is cut off (in blessing)."
"I seek forgiveness from Allah." Just once. Even one. The Prophet ﷺ said it 100× a day — but he counted yours of one too. Every single one wipes a sin.
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever sends one ṣalāh upon me, Allah sends ten upon him." One word from you — ten from Allah. The best deal you'll make today.
You are allowed to remember Allah lying down. The Qur'an itself praises those who do. The Prophet ﷺ said these words are: "Light on the tongue, heavy on the scale, beloved to Ar-Raḥmān."
The Prophet ﷺ told ʿImrān ibn al-Ḥusayn: "Pray standing — if you cannot, then sitting. If you cannot, then on your side." No standing tonight? Sit. Pour out two rakaʿāt sitting. Allah accepts it whole.
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever intends a good deed but does not do it, Allah writes for him a complete reward." Tonight, even the wish to pray is recorded. Sleep with the intention. Tomorrow, try again.
Sometimes depression makes worship feel hollow. You open your hands and nothing comes. Or you wonder if Allah is even listening. This is not kufr. This is exhaustion. And Allah knows the difference.
"And your Lord says: Call upon Me — I will respond to you." (Ghāfir 40:60)
If you feel nothing when you pray: That is not a sign of rejection. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Allah says: I am as My servant thinks of Me." (Bukhārī 7405). Even the thought that Allah might still accept you — that thought itself is from Him. Hold onto it.
If you can't make du'ā: The fact that you wish you could — that wish is a du'ā. The fact that you opened this page — that is Allah pulling you. You are not abandoned. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever intends a good deed but does not do it, it is recorded for him as a complete good deed." (Bukhārī 6491). Your intention to call upon Allah is already written as a good deed.
Just breathe His Name. You don't need to ask for anything. You don't need to raise your hands. Just whisper "Allāh" once — not as a request, just as a recognition that He is there. That is enough for tonight. One breath with His Name on it reaches Him faster than a thousand words said without the heart.
The Prophet ﷺ counted dhikr on his fingers and was seen using pebbles. Pick a remembrance. Tap. Let your heart settle into His Name.
The Messenger ﷺ never let a sunrise or sunset pass without these. All adhkār here are from authentic sources (Hisnul Muslim). Read them slowly. Mean them — even one is enough.
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven in the last third of every night, saying: Is there anyone who calls upon Me — I will answer him? Is there anyone who asks Me — I will give him? Is there anyone who seeks My forgiveness — I will forgive him?" (Bukhārī 1145, Muslim 758) Your sleeplessness is not a curse. It may be an invitation. Here is the Sunnah of the night when sleep will not come.
The Prophet ﷺ told Abū Hurayrah: "Whoever recites it when he goes to bed, Allah will appoint a guardian over him, and no devil will come near him until morning."
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him." Read or play the audio. They are enough.
ʿĀ'ishah رضي الله عنها reports: when the Prophet ﷺ went to bed, he would recite Al-Ikhlāṣ, Al-Falaq, and An-Nās, blow into his hands, and wipe over his body and head — three times. Do what you can.
"In Your Name my Lord I lay my side, and by You I raise it. If You take my soul, have mercy on it; if You release it, protect it as You protect Your righteous servants."
The Prophet ﷺ said: whoever wakes at night and says these words, then asks Allah for anything — He will answer. If he prays, his prayer is accepted. Your 3 AM wakefulness is a gift, not a curse.
When the last third of the night arrives, Allah descends to the lowest heaven and calls out to His servants. If you are awake — answer Him. Even two short rakaʿāt is a conversation. He has come down for you tonight.
The blue light from phones tells your brain it is daytime. If you cannot sleep, put the phone down for 20 minutes before lying back down — or turn on a blue-light filter. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Take advantage of five before five: your youth before your old age… and your free time before your busyness." Sleep is a right your body has over you.
The Prophet ﷺ disliked staying awake after ʿIshāʾ for no benefit (Bukhārī 574). Try to go to bed at the same window each night — even if you do not sleep, the consistency trains your brain. A warm drink (no caffeine), dim lights, and the same duʿā each night signal safety to your nervous system.
If you have been in bed for more than 30 minutes and cannot sleep, get up. Sit in a dimly lit room. Recite something soft — even from memory. Do not scroll. Do not eat. Return to bed only when you feel drowsy again. The bed should be associated with rest, not with the anxiety of not sleeping.
Don't read it fast. Read it the way you would re-read a letter from someone you love. Then sit. Then breathe. Then read it again.
If you ever felt suffering means Allah has forgotten you — read these. The most beloved of His creation were broken too. He never left them. He will not leave you.
Writing down a weight can lighten it. No one will read this — your words live only on this device. When you finish, we'll suggest a du'ā the Prophet ﷺ taught for what your heart is carrying — for you to make, in your own voice, to Allah.

Loneliness is part of the test — but isolation makes it worse. The Prophet ﷺ taught: "A believer to another believer is like a building — each part strengthens the other" (Bukhārī 481). If you cannot type the words tonight, we have written them. Copy. Send. That's all.
If you are thinking of harming yourself, or you cannot carry the weight by yourself anymore, please call one of these. The Prophet ﷺ taught us to seek out the strong, the wise, and the kind. Reaching for help is from the Sunnah. There is no shame.
"Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased. And surely what comes after will be better for you than what came before. And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied."
